Best Elite for Ele?
I'm after some advice here as I've been umming and errring for about a month now and still I have chosen not to carry an elite.
So, I have an ele/ranger with skill points (might be wrong doing it from memory):
16 Fire
10 Energy Storage
10 Wilderness survival
Flare
Fireball
Meteor storm or Shower
Troll Ungruent (healing)
Another ranger healing – get 250% of energy cost back in health
Dust Trap or Spirit
Attune Fire (gain 20% energy back when using fire skills)
Res sygnet or sygnet of capture (obviously not used)
The trouble is I cannot see any decent Elite that would help. There is an elite that returns health and enegy but it only lasts for 10 seconds as opposed to the Attune Fire and Ranger healing (forgot the name) that both last 60 secs.
So any advice, greatly appreciated.

Aura of Restoration will give you 317% return at level 10 instead of the 250%

You get back 30% not 20% =)
If you want better energy management then you can use 1 of 3 spells for your elite, Ether Prodigy, Elemental Attunement, or Ether Renewal. Ether renewal would be a waste in your case since you only have 1 enchantment up, so that leaves EP or EA. I myself prefer EP so I don't have to run dual attunements.
You of course could also use the Ranger's energy spell Storm Chaser but you have to take elemental damage for it to work though.

Thanks for that I'll give them a try. Its becomming apparent that the Ele elites are not a patch on the other characters. Twas easy with me necro twas either spiteful spirit or offering of blood.
Ah well, you cant always have what you want.

I like
Glyph of Energy "Your next Spell costs 20 less Energy to cast and does not cause Exhaustion."
Mist Form "For 8...18 seconds, you cannot take or deal damage from attacks."
Obsidian Flesh "For 8...18 seconds, you gain +20 armor and cannot be the target of enemy Spells, but move 50% slower."
for PvE

In my experience, the most useful Elementalist elite skill (for PvE) would be one of the two Glyphs. Either Glyph of Energy, which makes your next cast spell cost 20 less energy and removes the exaustion effect from it. The other is Glyph of Renewal, which makes your next cast spell recharge immediately. Both of these are ideal for someone who focuses their build around Meteor Shower. Glyph of Energy is better in situations where you have other spells besides Meteor Shower that you like to focus on, it leaves plenty of energy to use these other spells. Glyph of Renewal is best if you are setting up for a typical "nuking" build in which the main focus is Meteor Shower.
So a good build to use would be:
-Immolate (Immolate > Flare, especially later in the game)
-Meteor (use this to prevent enemies from running out of your Meteor Shower)
-Fireball
-Deep Freeze (to keep your enemies from running away from AoEs )
-Glyph of Energy or Glyph of Renewal
-Meteor Shower
-Aura of Restoration
-Fire Attunement
-12+4 Fire Magic
-11+1 Energy Storage
-6+1 Water Magic
Edit: For your reference:
Glyph of Energy: captured in Mineral Springs, from the Avicara boss Hyl Thunderwing.
Glyph of Renewal: captured in Perdition Rock, from the Hydra boss Nayl Klaw Tuthan.

IMO Elemental Attunement combined with another Ele Attunement of one of the four elements, you can spam spells for nearly a minute straight without worrying about energy.

List of good general purpose Ele elites in no particular order:- Elemental Attunement
- Ether Prodigy
- Glyph of Energy
- Glyph of Renewal
Other than that, more than likely what you're running is subpar, unless it's for some esoteric farming build.

Oh, if you're an Ele/R anyway, then for certain areas check out the solo farming builds based around Obsidian Flesh or Mist Form, with Serpent's Quickness to make them recharge before they expire.

Yes, I've also found Elem Attune to be very effective. Unfortunately the only other Ele Elite that I've found to be very good is Mind Burn. That however is a personal preference. Really depends on the build and how you play.
I like to use Immolate, fireball, meteor, lava font as my ele skills PvE skills, with Elem attune I have no energy probs. But I'm also necro 2ndry so I also like to bring SS as my elite when not using attune as well as parasitic. I have on occasion used W.T and Obsidian Flesh...not great imo.

When enchantment stripping isn't a concern, Elemental Attunement and Ether Renewal rock.
Too often, however, it's a big concern.

Use Elemental Attunement [elite]+Fire attunement=80% energy recycle,
with these two skills you can stay actively casting for large periods of time.

Or blood necros.
On the other hand, my last queen farming build used dual attunements. The key was to run fast as soon as something died near me, before the Well of the Profane could appear.

That would be Death necros.
Rend is nasty, too, but that's Curses.

I can't find anything more godly than ether prodigy.
Not even the damage you recieve is a problem. (at least it shouldn't)
Ether prodigy does something for ele that ele needed the most. Getting back into shape.

Yes, but he was talking about Well of the Profane. Also, Strip Enchant only strips 1 enchant, and he most likely has a cover.
